Wire Works Small Batch 2 Single Malt Whisky
70cl / 47.70% - Derbyshire drink maker White Peak Distillery has a growing whisky reputation and its Small Batch series demonstrates why. The latest slightly peated spirit was bottled at a higher ABV than the previous release at 47.7% ABV after it was matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon and STR casks, and also has a higher proportion of American oak. The casks were selected from the upper dunnage at the distillery where the warmer temperatures provide variation in wood extract. It was bottled with 100% natural colour and was also non-chill filtered.
