Its produced in Carnuntum in the east of the country, with Samt & Seide translating to velvet & silk a reference to its style. Grapes are whole-bunch fermented in wooden casks, partially foot trodden and fermented with natural yeasts. Its aged first for one year by parcel, then expertly blended and aged in large oak barrels.
