Hoppe Vieux Spirit
100cl / 35.00% - A popular Dutch brandy from a brand with roots in Amsterdam. The name "vieux" comes from when Dutch producers could no longer use the protected term "Cognac", which can of course only be produced in the Cognac region of France. Vieux (French for 'old'), which was already in use as a descriptor on many of the Dutch brandies, was chosen to replace it. Vieux is, however, made with neutral alcohol rather than grape eau-de-vie. The young adults in the Netherlands often enjoy this with cola.
