70cl / 42.00% - Del Maguey Vida Clasico is a single village mezcal. Its made alongside the tropical riverbed in the village of San Luis Del Rio, Oaxaca, where the Red Ant River flows. The agave used is 100% Espadin thats naturally fermented and then twice distilled in wood-fired copper stills. Vida Clasico is bottled at 42%, unblended, in a "time-honoured" 400-year-old way and makes for an ideal introduction to sipping mezcal.Vida Clasico comes from Del Maguey, a brand created by mezcal legend and pioneer Ron Cooper. While in Mexico the spirit was always appreciated as a key part of the culture, Cooper helped introduce mezcal to a wider audience in an authentic, loving portrayal rather than as a means to exploit its market potential. Appropriately, Del Maguey makes very fine mezcal.
