The Ralph Lauren look in three words: elegant, preppy, modern. The story is of Ricky and Ralph Lauren. If the American dream exists, this merchandise is the living proof. Born Ralph Lipchitz in 1939, the Bronx child of the Jewish immigration worked very early to buy beautiful costumes. He changed his name to Lauren and made a loan to launch his Polo shirt collection in 1967. The highlight of this budding trademark includes the Westernwear collection in 1978. The models were popular, so the designer designed a complete Polo line for men and opened his Polo by Ralph Lauren store at Bloomingdale's in New York. In 1971, the stylist was inspired by masculine lines to design women's shirts. The Polo logo appears on their cuffs. 1972 saw the expansion of the Polo shirt and a complete women's collection. The brand debuts for the first time at Club 21 in New York. It drove Ralph to broaden his scope and create a whole world of lifestyle. In 1978, he designed perfumes for women and men. The same year, the western style is launched. The brand is expanded overseas and in 1983 the Ralph Lauren Home Collection emerged. In the 1990s, the brand took a sporting orientation with Polo Golf and Polo Sport. The brand's 40th-anniversary parade and gala were celebrated at Central Park in 2007. The company became an official partner of the Wimbledon tournament in 2006 and the US Olympic and Paralympic teams in 2008. The opening of the largest European flagship store in a Parisian mansion in Saint-Germain-Pres in 2010 managed to bring a whopping turnover. The Multinational Corporation is now available in various lines: Ralph Lauren Collection, Blue Label, Lauren, Purple Label, Black Label, Polo, Golf, RLX, Double RL, Children, and Denim & Supply.
